According to a recently released study, Arizona’s mining industry contributed approximately $4.6 billion to Arizona’s economy and provided an estimated 49,800 jobs to Arizona residents in 2011.
The mining industry continues to be an important contributor to our state’s economy. A significant number of jobs held by Arizonans are tied to the mining industry in some way. And Arizona is home to an abundance of critical and strategic minerals capable of meeting our nation's manufacturing and national security needs. Given Arizona's mineral wealth, the AMA works to promote policies that will bring jobs and economic growth to the state and revitalize production of strategic and critical minerals.
